We made sure to include the best of them in the above list. SQL Server Recoveryįor Microsoft SQL Server crashes, you need a trained professional with a strong IT background and experience in configuring, administering, and troubleshooting SQL Server platforms. The best data recovery services typically provide fast and successful NAS recovery. When items on a NAS device are deleted, they’re deleted permanently, without providing a chance to restore them. The great disadvantage is that NAS devices don’t have built-in recovery procedures. The NAS devices have become very popular in both corporate and home network environments. NAS, or network-attached storage, is a server device that provides data storage in shared folders accessible from the client device over a LAN. The recovery process of a corrupted Exchange Server should effectively recover and restore the data from the EDB file and extract the PST (Personal Storage Table) mailboxes. Exchange Server Recoveryīusiness email communication often includes sensitive data, which the Exchange Server writes to a container file, a.k.a. We expect the best data recovery companies to be proficient at all levels. There are different levels in RAID, such as RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10. However, the complexity behind RAID systems leaves them liable to damage and configuration problems, which in turn can lead to business failure and serious financial loss. Server technologies are continually growing in popularity thanks to the fast access data they provide and the popularity of cloud computing. When a file is deleted, the technology removes it completely from the drive, making the task of recovering data possible only if trusted to the most professional team. SSDs don’t have moving parts, meaning they won’t have a mechanical failure. As a result of the high demand, almost any agency provides fast and secure failed hard drive recovery services. Hard drive data loss is very common since people tend to put all their important data there-and more often than not, they don’t back it up. Services Based on Device Hard Drive Recovery For us, it’s important to find data recovery companies that can easily diagnose the problem and have experience dealing with both physical and logical data damage. The Types of Physical & Logical Data Recovery Offeredĭata recovery varies depending on what type of damage the device or media was exposed to. Here, the data loss is due to accidental actions, an app crash, or accidental hard disk formatting. Logical data recovery deals with a functional hard disk. Physical data recovery is more complicated as it deals with data loss caused by physical failure and hard disk damage. There are two types of data recovery: physical and logical. Last but not least, we take a look at the services they offer to gain a basic knowledge of their specialties. Specifically, we consider what types of data loss they’ve dealt with, what solutions they applied, and whether they were able to recover the data successfully. From there, we learn a lot about the capabilities and expertise behind data retrieval services. The next step is taking a look at their case studies and success stories. We prioritize the companies that have been active for at least two years because that usually points to an extensive track record. Once we land there, we first check how long they’ve been on the market. The website tells us a lot about the company. Here is a detailed overview: Company’s Website In addition, we considered factors like client satisfaction, pricing, and customer service. We curated our list based on a strict set of criteria designed to evaluate multiple aspects of each company’s experience and the services they offer. Gameplay-wise, it handles like a typical third-person puzzle adventure, not too dissimilar from old-style games. And it was made in the Unity engine, a tool that’s often associated with bland-looking indie titles…so hats off to Red Thread in that respect. It’s not something you’d hold up as a pillar of graphical prowess, but it’s definitely pretty to look at. A prison riot breaks out and Kian is released, only to be chased by snot-nosed guards who have taken their etiquette skills directly from the book of I Say Old Chap! This sequence is over quickly and we’re back with Zoe where we get to explore the collapsing society that is Stark. In Arcadia, you play as Kian Alvane, an Azadi soldier who has been captured and is mere hours away from his execution. She awakes several months later with little to no memory of the events, and I am right there with her. Having exposed a conspiracy theory in the previous game, Zoe is left to rot in a comatose state by the hands of the people she’d fought. By going in completely blind, I had a pure motive of wanting to discover the story – her story – and what these elusive Dreamachines were all about. I didn’t know anything about her, yet I wanted to find out more. The opening sequence in the dream world was both beautiful and intriguing, and Zoe is an interesting and enigmatic character. While it may have put me at a slight disadvantage having not played any other entries in the series, Dreamfall Chapters – Book One was actually able to pull me in by keeping me guessing. Now, if you haven’t played the previous games, you’re going to have a lot of questions. Let me rephrase: she wakes up in a dream world to see her comatose self lying in a hospital bed. The story begins with Zoe Castillo (the first of three characters you get to play as) waking up in a coma. While on the surface, Arcadia and Stark appear to be polar opposites, the two worlds are connected by a similar struggle: the fight against corrupt power, whether it’s dark magic or corporate technology. Even the way the characters speak to one another sounds almost archaic. It’s a world that exists in parallel to the other, but visually looks centuries out of date and favours magic and sorcery over technology. Technology is either used against its people (flying adbots, advanced military personnel, machines that let you control your dreams but are highly addictive) or is broken (battered workshops, corrupt worker bots).Īrcadia is the antithesis of Stark. It’s a technologically corrupt future with a fixation on neon signs and a political disparity that would fit right at home in 1980s sci-fi. Who can say?Īnyway, Chapters is a continuation of events that unfurled in the previous title and the game is set in two disparate worlds: Stark and Arcadia. Is that cheating a little? Well, maybe they just wanted to keep focusing on this ongoing journey and keep projects aside for Funcom. Except in this instance, Red Thread consists almost entirely of ex-employees from Funcom Productions, who worked on the game’s predecessors. It often works well in many ways, as it gives new studios the chance to re-imagine an already popular world in their own vision.ĭreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey (currently selling as Dreamfall Chapters: Book One: Reborn) did a similar thing by handing control over to newcomers Red Thread Games. When The Chinese Room took creative control of Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs – the successor to Frictional Games’ horror masterpiece, Amnesia: The Dark Descent – the reputation of the franchise was put squarely in the young and independent team’s mitts. No one really knows how well a video game sequel is going to pan out, especially if the baton is passed to new developers. Patterns are easy to spot in scatter diagrams. The advantages and disadvantages of scatter diagrams A correlated relationship may happen for any of the following reasons: Stay mindful that correlation does not always indicate causation. These two variables have no association, and the observations will be dispersed all over the graph.Ī fundamental observation to remember when studying correlation is that a link between two variables does not guarantee causation. As an area grows, there is no effect on the air quality. The area of land and air quality index, for example, have no relationship. The two variables plotted aren't connected in any way. The "no correlation" type is used when there's no potential link between the variables. The pattern of observation in this example would slant from the top left to the bottom right of the graph. Here’s an example: When summer temperatures rise, sales of winter clothing declines. The dependent variable's value drops as the independent variable's value rises. In the negative correlation, when the value of one variable grows, the value of the other variable falls. The pattern of observation in this example would slant from the chart's bottom left to the upper right. Consider this scatter diagram example:Īs the weight of human adults increases, the risk of diabetes also increases. If variables have a positive correlation, this signifies that when the independent variable's value rises, the dependent variable's value rises as well. Three types of correlations in scatter diagrams are: Positive correlation You can find a correlation when a cause-and-effect link exists between both variables. You can use a regression line to predict how a change in one variable will likely affect the value of a dependent variable. A correlation in a scatter diagram occurs when two variables are determined to have a connection. The link between variables in scatter diagrams is indicated by the direction of the correlation on the graph. This demonstrates a link between plant height and age. Once you've finished drawing the scatter diagram, you may observe that as a plant grows older, it grows taller. You build the graph after selecting the two variables: the plant's height and age. Looking for the root of an issue that has been recognizedįor instance, we may look at the pattern of plant height over time.Investigating hypotheses concerning cause-and-effect interactions. One variable can be measured, but the other can't.Assessing if two seemingly similar outcomes are caused by the same thing.Objectively deciding whether a cause and effect are linked. Each value of your independent variable might have several values for your dependent variable. When would you use a scatter plot?Ī scatter plot is an excellent tool for planning and measuring quality when: You can forecast the behavior of the dependent variable based on the independent variable after establishing how the variables are connected. When creating the graph, the points will fall along a line or curve if the variables are correlated.Ī scatter chart might be helpful when one variable is measurable, but the other is not. The response variable measures the outcome. In general, the independent variable tries to explain or anticipate an observed outcome. How do we know which is the response and independent variable? It depicts the link between a process component on one axis and the quality fault on the other to help with process optimization.Ī scatter diagram demonstrates the relationship between a change in a dependent variable Y in response to a change in a corresponding independent variable X. What is a scatter diagram?Ī scatter diagram is a graph that shows the association between two variables for a collection of numerical data. At first glance, this may be confusing, but scatter diagrams are easy to understand if you take the time. While typical charts and graphs use lines or bars to represent data, scatter diagrams use dots. They are simple to use and help in improving business processes. Scatter diagrams are graphical statistical tools. It is used to plan and monitor operations to improve quality-related issues in an organization. A scatter diagram is one of seven core tools in project management. After spending years struggling to create cutting-edge tech to hunt paranormal phenomena, it’s finally beginning to click. Let’s take a closer look at each of the heroes: Devinder Crousleyĭescribed as an internet-famous paranormal investigator, amateur cryptozoologist, and aspiring invent, Devinder landed in Redfall on a book tour and is now trapped. But they’re not the only thing standing in your way – players will also face off against the human cultists who worship the island’s hungry new leadership with the hopes of joining their ranks.Īs the player, you will take the role of one of the survivors to fight back. After their transformation, some vampires develop powerful abilities and grow into bigger and badder vampires. They were created after a scientific experiment went horribly wrong and are continuing to evolve. And according to Arkane, these vampires are “ not your typical bloodsuckers.” Redfall has been taken siege by a legion of vampires who have cut off the island from the outside world. The same will be true of Redfall.”Īt the heart of Redfall is the island itself, which the developers promise will be able to be explored in “ typical Arkane fashion.” For those who have spent time in Dishonored and/or Prey, this is incredibly exciting. Despite those differences, in every case our focus remains on deep world building and inventive game mechanics. Mooncrash introduced rogue-like elements. Prey leveraged tons of physics-related gameplay. The package actually includes 8 “squares”, and the dimensions of each separate decal are approximately 7-1/4″ wide x 8-1/4″ tall. This wall sticker package comes as a roll and may appear that it is a single sheet that you will then have to cut into pieces. Or you simply like the look of 7 squares. Sometimes that’s just too much information or you’d prefer less days with more writing space. Not bad for taking all of the work out of a DIY chalkboard project.īut who says your wall calendar needs to be an entire month? They typically run approximately 2 feet tall x 2 feet wide and cost about $30-40. These calendars are not huge, so don’t assume that you’ll have lots of writing space. Not only that, but the decals can be applied to both smooth and textured surfaces and also can be removed without damaging the wall itself. They basically involve sticking the vinyl decals to the wall (or door, mirror, refrigerator, etc. These kits come with easy-to-follow instructions. Whether you paint the wall yourself using painter’s tape as a template or get a peel-and-stick decal kit or get a giant chalkboard calendar wall sticker – this do-it-yourself project can easily be done by anyone.Īnd yes, I mean anyone. They key is to turn it into a DIY project, and it doesn’t have to be hard or time consuming. These calendars also work well in offices where a group of people all use the same calendar.īut really, anyone can use chalkboard calendars, especially because (when done right) they can actually make your wall look really cool – not to mention functional. Some families use a chalkboard calendar in the kitchen, where everyone can see it, add to it and make changes. Plus, at the end of the month, you can clear the entire board and use it again – month after month. Take a full tour of her beautiful home for loads more inspiration.A chalkboard is a great surface for a calendar because you can write, erase and re-write as your schedule changes. We're thinking our very limited drawing skills might not create anything like the masterpiece seen below, but we reckon we could have a crack at creating a decorative chalkboard wall. Insta influencer Theresa Gromski, uses the chalkboard wall in her kitchen just to doodle loads of gorgeous illustrations, switching it up every now and then to suit the seasons. So far all our chalkboard wall ideas have been pretty practical, but they can be purely decorative too. Then, use screws to attach three hooks to the lower part of the wall board, which you can use to hang kitchen essentials on, such as tea towels, aprons and shopping bags.Īll that remains is to glue the cork pinboard onto the organiser with the Bosch GluePen and then to fix the finished kitchen organiser to the wall with wall plugs and screws. Provide further support to the shelf by screwing three wood screws into it from behind, using the tiny holes described in step 1 as your guide. Insert the wooden plugs with a little glue into the pre-drilled holes on the shelf, run a little glue along the edge, and then push the shelf into the plug holes on the wall board. It is important not to drill right through the board and that the plug is fixed correctly.īefore you join the shelf and wall board together, apply blackboard paint to the board and let it dry – this will then provide a surface to write any shopping or to-do lists on. Use a drill bit with a diameter 1 to 2mm less than the size of the plug. Now drill the holes for the two wood plugs in both the MDF board and the laminated wood, using the Bosch Uneo Maxx cordless rotary hammer. Then transfer these marks to the edge of the laminated wood. Midway between the drill hole marks make two more marks for the wooden plugs. Mark three drill holes for wood screws on the line you have drawn, two that are 5cm from each end of the board and one in the middle. Mark a line on the MDF board where the shelf is to be fixed, leaving enough room for the weekly shopping list above it. Have the MDF board and laminated wood cut to size in your DIY store. Walls sprung up in the area quickly after that and installation on a new section of Red Car Trolley tracks began.įor now, the elephants inspired by those in the 1916 silent film "Intolerance" remain. Last week the entry arch to the Hollywood Pictures Backlot was removed over the course of one night. You can spot the beginnings of the new Carthay Circle fountain in the lower right corner of this photo It's just too bad no attraction is planned for inside the Theatre.Ĭonstruction view from the entrance of Hollywood Pictures BacklotĬarthay construction from the Monorail. The structure will really help cap the Buena Vista Street area and give the entrance of the park a very nice "weenie" to draw guests in. Flagpoles for the new Pan Pacific Auditorium-inspired structure have been installed.Ī look at the construction from inside the park:įurther inside the park, the new Carthay Circle Theatre continues to grow. Work continues to progress quickly at California Adventure's new main entrance turnstiles. Photos don't really do it justice - this steel framework is already huge, a far cry from the empty openness of Sunshine Plaza. It's just some steel at this point, but exciting nonetheless. Inside the park, vertical construction on the new Carthay Circle Theater, the new central icon of the park has started. The Maliboomer's exit path has been converted into a smoking area.Ĭonstruction continues on the new Pan-Pacific Auditorium-themed entry gates at California Adventure. It's a regrettable corner in a park that is finally starting to look good. Let's hope this "lush new park" doesn't last very long. At a Resort where money is routinely spent on nicely themed construction walls surrounding construction zones and painted scrims to hide simple repainting projects, this half-hearted "park" area is an embarrassment, especially considering it will be seen by guests for years. Of course, this isn't the first time the remains of a closed attraction have lingered for years at Disney California Adventure (Superstar Limo, Who Wants to Be A Millionaire?, Hollywood & Dine), but this is the first time the remains of a shuttered attraction has looked so glaringly bad in the park. It looks painfully cheap and it is clearly obvious that the space is the site of an attraction that was removed and not replaced. Still, even being a temporary solution, this "park" does not belong in a Disney theme park. The long-term plans for this space call for a new attraction to absorb this space as well as the nearby Paradise Pier gift shops. The area isn't so much a park as it is a wide thoroughfare past the grave of a former attraction that had some trees planted around it. Three trees in wooden boxes sit in the place of the attraction's three launch towers and a new planter with small trees surround the platform on ground level.Ī couple benches are available, but who would want to spend time here? Shade structures for the Maliboomer queue can see in the background. The cement platform for the Maliboomer is still here. They disappear into another floating wall. The handrails for the Maliboomer queue remain intact, just painted white. The floating walls really make the area look that much cheaper and incomplete. The result is that the new walls float above the ground, making them look like an obvious cheap, quick fix. Throughout the park, the walls are attached to the metal safety fences instead of being custom-designed to sit on the ground. The new walls covering the safety fences surrounding California Screamin' supports are a nice idea, but the execution is quite bad. On first look the space appears serviceable, but the reality is that the area is an ugly fit for a Disney theme park. The "lush new park" that Disney advertised on construction walls as a replacement for the former Maliboomer attraction has opened. c'est visiblement loin d'être une réussite!! Le temporaire "Maliboomer Park" est ouvert mais. It really seems like this entire area will feel very temporary until a more permanent attraction takes over the space White wooden themed walls are going up around the teal-and-white metal fences in the area. Work in the "lush new park" where the now-gone Maliboomer thrill ride was is progressing. You can spot some Carthay Circle Theatre-style features already:Ĭonstruction continues on the new Paradise Garden dining area and the re-themed Goofy's Sky School coaster A new cement wall has sprung up at the back of the space. Inside the park, work is underway at the site of the future Carthay Circle Theatre. Work is picking up at California Adventure's new entrance complex, with new main entrance turnstiles taking shape along with the beginnings of the new Carthay Circle Theatre – The smooth integration of Apple ecosystem is another obvious thing to notice. Topaz Sharpen AI was now so fast that I didn’t even notice it running the operation before it was already done. But there are some tools that obviously have already been optimised for Apple Silicon/M1, since they run lightning-fast. The general impression is that I can now process my large RAW file collections maybe twice as fast as before. The speed is one main thing: in my photo editing processes there are some functions that take almost the same time as in my older PC workstation, but mostly things happen much faster. – I have not much of actual daily usage yet behind, with this system, but my first impressions are predominantly positive. – There has been some weird moments recently of not getting any image into my temporary, replacement monitor, too, so the jury is still out, whether there is indeed something wrong in the Mac Mini regarding this issue, also. I was just happy being able to return this one, and ordered a different monitor, from Lenovo this time, as they had a special discount currently in place for a model that also has a built-in Thunderbolt dock – something that should be useful as the M1 Mac Mini has a rather small selection of ports. Also, there was a mechanical issue with the small plastic power switch in this display (it got repeatedly stuck, and had to be forcibly pried back in place). But as I made some tests with several other display cables and by comparing with another 4k monitor, I was able to isolate the issue as a fault with the Asus instead. As this “black screen after sleep” issue is something that has been reported with some M1 Mac Minis, I was sure that I had got a faulty computer. – There was one major hiccup in the process so far, but in the end it was nothing to blame Mac Mini for I got a colour-calibrated 27″ 4k Asus ProArt display to attach into the Mac, but there was immediately major issues with display being stuck to black when Mac woke from sleep. – I use 1Password app and service for managing and synchronising logins/passwords and other sensitive information across devices and that speeds up the login procedures a bit these days. – The browser plugin installations and login procedures for the browsers I use is a major undertaking, and still ongoing. – And then installing the standard software that I use daily (Adobe Creative Cloud/Lightroom/Photoshop MS Office 365 DxO Pure RAW Topaz DeNoise AI & Sharpen AI, most notably) – DockMate (for getting Win10-style app window previews into the Mac dock, without which I feel the standard dock is pretty useless) – set Sublime Text as the default text editor – installed BetterSnapTool (for adding snap to sides / corners functionality into the MacOS windows management) – Alfred (for extending the already excellent Spotlight search to third-party apps, direct access to various system commands and other advanced functionalities) – AltTab (makes alt-tab key-combo cycle through all open app windows, not only between applications, like cmd-tab) – and then, made certain add-ons/modifications to the MacOS: – for fast additional ssd storage, Samsung X5 External SSD 2TB (with nominal read/write speeds of 2,800/2,300 MB/s) – and as the mouse, Logitech G Pro X Superlight Wireless Gaming Mouse, White – set up as the keyboard Logitech MX Keys Mini for Mac This is in nutshell what extras and customisations I have done to it, so far: This was focused around a Mac Mini (M1/16GB/512GB model), which I set up as the new main “workstation” for my home office and photography editing work. I got the first part of my ‘Transition to Mac’ project (almost) ready by the end of my summer vacation. If you are very interested in using these tracks, better prefer to use them for short daytime naps. Trust me, you never want to mess up your natural sleep cycles at any cost. Lucid dreaming happens in the REM phase but if you will like to stay in that state longer than your natural duration then you won’t be having deep sleeps that’s essential for your mental peace. If you will sleep with your earplugs on and play brainwave entrainment tracks, it will definitely keep your mind more active than usual. REM state (rapid eye movement) where dreams/lucid dreams happen and non-REM state where deep sleep occurs. We all have a natural sleep cycle which consists of two states mainly viz. Here are some reasons why I don’t recommend brainwave entrainment for the purpose of inducing lucid dreams:- 1 – Disturbing Your Natural Sleeps These sounds surely do help you to have your first lucid dream but there are easier methods for inducing lucid dreams that are safer and better, why use something that leaves you dissatisfied? Consistent efforts will help you to explore your dream world like any skill you perfect with practice.
